Cheerful Monday #45 - Winter Adventure

Thank you to all of you for your patience with my posts. Here is the very belated Cheerful Monday post for Vicki's current challenge: Snowy Day.
The adorable image is again from Vintage Image Craft and it just felt like fitting perfectly with the one I used previously. So I created another little pendant in the same style as the previous one. The image is layered on some hessian and adorned with lace, punched-out snowflakes and some blings. The little stamped sentiment is from Elzybells.

I hope you can play with us for this challenge, just pop over to Vicki's blog. You will also find some amazing inspiration from the DT for the challenge. Petra.

A Sprinkle of Snow

Yesterday I mentioned that there was not even snow at my parent's place,  so unusual at this time of the year.  This morning I woke up to a chilly wind and a light sprinkle of snow (lol)
Hope yyou have a lovely weekend. Petra.

Cheerful Monday #44 - Snowy Day

no snow yyet not even at my parents  in Germany where we went yesterday to celebrate my dad's birthday.  It is really nice to see all the family and exchange all news.  With no snow insight it is really nice to have Vicky's challenge to play with: Snowy Day.  I chose a really adorable image from our sponsor Vintage Image Craft for my little pendant.  It is layered on some hessian and some patterned paper (sorry I cannot remember the manufacturer). As embellishments I used lace, snowflake and some blings.
Hope you can play with us.  Just pop over to Vicky's blog: The Cheerful Stamp Pad. Have a lovely Sunday Petra.

Photo Session #11 - Anglesey/Wales

Peter went for more running training to Anglesey in Wales/UK in his quest for the Transvulcania Ultramarathon coming May. He did run 15.5 miles in very wet and windy conditions, some roads had turned into lakes, paths were rivers ...... While he was running, I went for a bit of a walk and I thought you might want to have a glimpse of what it looked and felt like ....
for Peter (red cap) and all the other runners ... a couple of runners only wore vests!

 a road turned lake
the trail went along the Anglesey coast passing some impressive landsights like the South Stack Lighthouse

the Ellis Tower
but in the end a little bit of sun came out and there was a rainbow, a double-one ... a sign of hope and encouragement
Thank you, Peter, for taking me. I had never been to Anglesey and it was quite a trip.
Have a lovely week, Petra.

Finnabair inspired Canvas

Last year December I was so lucky to have the chance to attend a Finnabair workshop together with Lucy. The workshop had been organised by Artist Trading Post, and it was just amazing. The atmosphere was truly electric with Finnabair being energetic and full of ideas and inspiration. All workshop participants were so tense in their concentration but yet, it was so much fun and I learned SO MUCH. We created a canvas with one of Finnabair's chipboard horses as centre-piece layered on lots and lots of mica powders, paints, lace, fabric, embellishments
This was the canvas at the end of the session. I was very happy with the layout and the design but I felt it looked a bit flat ....
.... Treasure Gold and some more small embellishments like little fabric flowers, buttons and half-pearls did the trick
This is the centre-piece of the canvas and I like the horse a lot!

Hope you have a great week, Petra. x

Cheerful Monday #43 - Postale Card

It is Monday and time for a new project for Vicki's lovely challenge: Use Some Ribbon. Ribbons are purely used as embellishments on this card
The base is a white (not sure why it appears to have a pink shade :-( ) slightly textured card. I added some nice old German book text with distressed edges and  a very old postal mail tag I found in my stash. The tag is adorned with some postale washi tape (7Gypsies) and a lovely stamp from Craft Stamper Magazine. The image is stamped with Stazon and very lightly coloured with chalks.
To finish the card I added some lovely linen ribbons and some vintage buttons.

Hope you can visit Vicki's blog for more fab inspiration and to join us for the challenge, Petra.

Photo Session #10 - London Regent Canal

Today I went for a wonderful day out - walking along the Regent's Canal in London with a couple of friends. It was absolutely enjoyable with surprising insights into one of the 'secret's' areas of London. The path is 8 and 1/2 miles long ... and the day started with glorious sunshine and blue sky while walking on the towpath looking at all the lovely river boats .....
under bridges
unexpected art projects
and, of course, not to forget ... tea and yummy choclate cake
I wish you a great start into the new week, Petra.

Lunagirl - Winter Lady II

My table looked so messy that I had to tidy up and while doing so I noticed that I could use all the bits and pieces and leftovers for a new project (lol). This was very handy. So let's see what I found:
The tag itself (paper from October Afternoon) had been cut quite a long time ago, I dry-embossed it to get a bit of texture.
The background image came from an old Christmas card which I had already partly used.
I had printed the beautiful Lady (from Lunagirl Moonbeams Winter Fun collage sheet) a couple of times for a card.
And the lace and ribbon and organza roses and little blingy stars were also on the table ready to be used!

This was fun and saved me tidying up! How cool is this?
Do you also have a project like this? I wish you a very enjoyable weekend, Petra.

Tag Tuesday - Shelters and Homes

Shelters/Homes is the current theme over at Tag Tuesday. Well, my home is my shelter, it feels like a safe haven and a place where I can rest. I am also so lucky to have a wonderful garden to enjoy nature. It always feel wonderful to return home after work, after a holiday .....

The base for the tag is watercoloured card which was left from some other projects last year.
The house, flowers and sentiment are stamped with PaperArtsy stamps and coloured with Copics.
To embellish the tag I just added some ribbon from my ribbon-leftover-box.
.
... and the fun thing is, No 62 is my real house number (BIG SMILE)
Thank you for stopping by, Petra.

Cheerful Monday #42 - Ribbon Heart

Vicki's challenge this time is all about ribbon and how you use them in your projects. What a lovely theme! For my little card I made different ribbons the focal point...
Ribbons are one of my favourite items to use in my work. They are so versatile and perfect to give a card, tag ..... this special finishing touch. Instead of showing off the ribbon on top of the card for this project I used it as second layer by die-cutting a dry-embossed white square and filling the space with ribbon.
The project was inspired not only by the ribbons in vibrant pink and yellow with different textures but also by one of  the Sketching Stamper's card, many thanks. The heart was cut with a Sizzix Tim Holtz Alteration die, the white card dry-embossed with the heart embossing folder by Crafts Too.

Hope you can join us for this lovely challenge. Petra.

Tag Tuesday - Winter Landscape

What a Winter is has been so far, very very wet and windy and very warm. So warm that the birds have already started to twitter in the morning and all the Spring bulbs decided it is time to show their first leaves! Oh dear ....
This is the first tag I created for Tag Tuesday: Winter Landscape this year using one of my photos from last year's winter as focal point. I just love the texture of the snow crystals and the way they sit on the seed head
The tag is cut from Karftcard, dry-embossed and slightly inked. the photo is layered on musical note paper (Kaisercraft) and BazillBasics card. To adorn the tag I added some twine, vellum snowflake and a little wooden heart.
Stay safe and warm wherever you are, Petra.

With Brave Wings She Flies (by Danielle Burkleo)

Happy New Year to all of you! I hope it started well for all of you ... some of you might have made some New Year's resolutions, I normally try to keep it on a very low level because I know myself too well ..... but this year I decided to choose a little word or more precise two little words to share with you. It was inspired by Dymphie and they have been in my head and in my heart for quite a while: Be Brave
This postcard was inspired by the spur of a moment when I did some babysitting of two adorable boys, one wanted to do some drawing with paints. I haven't used watercolours for ages and I thought why not join him. It was wonderful fun and so enjoyed sharing these moments with a little one.
I used watercolours and acrylic paints. The little girl and hearts are stamped (PrimaMarketing) and coloured with watercolours.
The little two words were printed. They are quite small but I hope that they will grow and become more confident over the coming months. My aim is to create a postcard every month picking one of the 'braveries' of the heart.

Have you also chosen a word or a theme for this year? It would be so wonderful to share it.
many thanks for popping by, wishing you all a wonderful 2014, Petra.
