Hot Office Beverages

For the current Gingersnap Creations Once in a Blue Moon challenge Shar left us free reign ... she called it 'Gingersnapper's Choice' where we could choose any previous Gingersnap Creations challenge. Some how I ended up creating a hot beverage (GC85) card in warhol style - I think - and I am just not sure what I was thinking when I decided on the project (lol) ....
I cut a lot of nestabilities circles from black and white card. I coloured the white circles with different inks and stamped the beverage image onto the inked circle (stamps: Elzybells, gcs). The circles are mounted on white card with some doodled line around it.

If you want to see some absolutely stunning interpretations of previous challenges, hop over to the Gingersnap blog - it is definitely worth it! You will also find all information about this awesome challenge. Hope you join us, Petra.

Still Growing

I haven't made an ATC for ages. It was quite difficult to get back into the swing of things (lol). The Bella Creations Oh La La group was provided with two images by Gecko Galz , a background image and the image of a child in a clown outfit. The task was to create an ATC
I turned the background upside down and printed the words on it. The image has been flipped horizontally and cut out. The clowns shoes are from the web and the top hat from the Graphics Fairy. The ruler stamp is from Hero Arts. Petra.

Less Is More In Colour

This is my interpretation of the Less is More sketch and the colour challenge from Der/Die/Das Bawion - black and pink. The pink is quite subtle and I tried to keep the embellishments to a minimum. The trim is layered with black card punched with a Martha Stewart punch and a gingham pink ribbon.

For the embellishment I used two paper flowers and a button covered with printed fabric. The image on the button is from the Graphics Fairy. The last touch was the sentiment stamped with a Penny Black stamp. Petra.

Gingersnapper Spirit Blog Hop

This is so exciting ... the Gingersnapper Spirit Blog Hop for the 3rd Annual Copper, Ginger or Rust challenge . To visit all the blogs participating in the event, please follow the link HERE. You will find an amazing array of work and, of course, we would like to see your creations for the Copper, Ginger or Rust challenge!

For this challenge I created a little piece which started life as an ordinary clothespin
The first step was to take the clothespin apart. I then covered it with musical note paper which I had received from my dear friend Faerwillow a while ago, it was perfect. The edges are inked with Adirondack Rust.
Having seen rolled flowers all over I decided to embellish the clothespin with a rolled fabric flower. This was such great fun ... it was quick and easy, a tutorial can be found here! The fabric is soft polyester silk in a ginger-coppery tone with black ornaments. I added two leaves cut with PaperArtsy diecut from copper glittercard. The finishing touch is a little sparkly button. I love the flower and there is already more fabric lined up for production!

Now you know what I created, just have a look at all the other amazing pieces and show us yours, Petra.

Spring Is Coming

It is all about the start of Spring with a bit of a masculine feel for the "Less is More" challenge (lol) ... Stampers Anonymous meets Hero Arts
I used a plain white card as base. The text stamp is from Stampers Anonymous stamped with Brilliance ink. The tulip is part of a Hero Arts stamp set. The image was stamped on white slightly textured card, it was cut out and coloured with colour pencils (Koh-i-noors). It was then layered onto the card with foam pads. The finishing touch is a little fastener. Have a wonderful start into the Spring season! Petra.

I also link it to the Spring Flower Blogger's Challenge:

Little Flower Girl

This is a tag I made for the most talented lady - Cindy ... when I saw the image of the little flower girl, I just fell in love with it. I tried to keep the embellishments to a minimum and not to distract from the image ... Have a wonderful Sunday, Petra.

Happy St Patrick's Day

Hope you had a fantastic day so far! A friend of mine sent me two images and asked me if I could make a St Patrick's Day card. Who am I to refuse (lol)! It was the quickest card I ever made, so easy and without any trouble ... a little bit worrying because it is so unlike me. Normally there is at least one disaster along the way .... (lol)
The sketch from the Friday Sketchers was the starting point for the card,
my friend's images, free papers from DigitalCardFun and some white card. Flowers, blings and ribbon are from my stash. And as last touch I applied some stickles ... finish! Have a wonderful evening, Petra.

Vintage Typewriter

... yes, the ones of the old variety. I have one at home which is not quite a true antique yet but it is lovely and reminds me of the 'good old times' when mistakes could only be corrected with tippex or typing it again ... sigh (lol) This month's Gingersnap Creations Random Redhead Challenge is all about those lovely typewriters and everything related to them: ribbon, ink, special typewriter letters, ....
The base for the card is Kraft Card from Elzybells layered with ledger paper from the Vintage Moth. It has a lovely worn look and didn't need any distressing (lol). For the main part I created a tag using Kraft Card and K&Company paper and 'dry' stitching it around the edge. The typewriter and letter is stamped with Hero Arts stamps and Brilliance Ink. The two spools on the typewriter have been replaced with two metal buttons. To give the card a bit more of a finish I looked for a ribbon or else I could use and guess what I found: typewriter ribbon, the perfect finish - I think!
Why not join us for the typewriter challenge? Hop over to the Gingersnap blog and show us your creations. Happy typing, Petra.

French Inspired Fan

Viv and her fabulous ideas (lol) .... she tasked us to create a French inspired fan for our monthly Art 'n' Soul swap "You may make your fan from any medium and embellish it any way you wish ... with at least 6 blades ... each blade at least 6 inches long .... in fabulous,Shabby Chic and Ritzy, Rococo, Marie Antionette style" The template for the fan is from Mirkwood Designs. I absolutely enjoyed making the fan ... so many possibilities and a fabulous opportunity to indulge in beautiful papers and images.
I cut double blades with patternd paper from the Tilda collection to strengthen the blades and used the same paper for the nestabilities frames
All Marie Antoinette images are from Magic Moonlight Free Images, the stamp embellishments from Impression Obsession, Clear Stamps and Eline Pellinkhof.
Have a wonderful day, Petra. x

Exciting News & Doodling

Oh gosh, I am thrilled to bits. Vicki from the Cheerful Stamp Pad asked me to be on her Design Team. Could I resist? Definitely not, I feel really honoured and look forward to submitting my first piece very soon - watch this space (lol).

Sorry that I haven't been around much lately ... I have and will do some catching up very soon. What I did do is some doodling. This is great fun and if you have not tried it before, just have a go maybe on some small-scale projects. If you hop over to the Gingersnap Blog, you can see my tutorial on small-scale doodling, and I hope so much that you feel inspired and will have a go. Don't forget to share your art with us! Belated Mardi Gras

Hope you enjoyed a wonderful Mardi Gras with its fantastic masquerades, masks and non-stop parties. Shar told the story of Mardi Gras over at the Gingersnap blog and painted wonderful vivid images of how it came about ... and the Gingers provided the perfect backdrop with their colourful and fanciful creations!
Although being a bit late for the Fat Tuesday party, I would like to share the mask with you I created for the masquerade
I sooo enjoyed creating this mask, the template was so perfect for the occasion and so were the papers from Crafty Individuals. The project was finished with embossed swirls from Artemio, lots of bling and feathers.
And the best is ... you can still join the party with your fanciful creations throughout March, hop over to the Gingersnap Blog and show us how you celebrated Mardi Gras. Petra.
