Vintage Women ....

.... at Digital Two For Tuesday: Fishing and Sailing Ladies
Thank you so much Cora for giving me the chance to host this week's Digital Two For Tuesday challenge. And it was a challenge! Both themes: fishing and sailing would not be themes I normally use. But once I started to think about what would be possible, I immensely enjoyed the project.

Sailing Lady:
This felt very much like ocean and cruises and luggage. I used part of the image (lady, part of the rail and life belt) and layered it onto a cruise ship background I found at art-e-zine vintage ephemera to create a travel/luggage tag. The Lady image is partially coloured otherwise the graphics is in sepia.

Fishing Lady:
This was more difficult, I am not into fishing and it was difficult to imagine what to do. Then my eye fell on a little door hanging next to my backdoor which reads: I am in the Garden. In this tradition I made a little hanging for the fishing Lady.

Here I used the complete image and framed it with cut nestability shapes and various layers of corrugated card and patterend K&Company papers.
Enjoy, Petra.

Pinkie Monochrome Jigsaw

One of Viv's excellent Art 'n' Soul challenges ... to alter a jigsaw piece with the theme being monochrome. I am not quite sure what got into me but when I saw the template Viv provided
I couldn't help myself ... I had to do something silly with it ... I dressed it up (lol) .... in pink monochrome ....

Supplies:
papers - Bazzill Basics, Papermania, origami paper, linen textured card
images - Graphics Fairy, Antiques Images
blings - Kanban
Sizzix flowers

Eye, hands and tophat are from the Graphics Fairy. They are supplemented by shoes from Antiques Images which I coloured digitally ... in the same way I coloured the tophat. The colourful tie is in origami fold according instructions I found here.
I absolutely loved the dressing up bit and I hope you enjoy as much looking at it. Petra.

A Little Recipe

One of our friends' children loves Brownie Cake. For every birthday I get an order for Brownie Cake with smarties. Very soon he and his family will leave England so I made a little recipe card for him with the recipe of his very favourite cake

Supplies:
papers - textured brown card from Elzybells, white linen textured card, cupcake paper (?)
stamp - Haenglar
ribbon - from my stash

Although the occasion is a sad one, I enjoyed making this little recipe card. The stamped image is absolutely adorable and fits so well.
I hope our little friend will enjoy many more Brownie cakes ... even if he has to bake them himself (lol). Petra.

This card also fits for the Cupcake Craft Challenge: Food & Drink

Spring Birthday .....

.... in pink and yellow .... a combination of Sketchy Colors sketch and Play Date Cafe Spring colours

Supplies:
plain white A6 card
papers - white linen textured card for printing, BasicGrey, Bazzill Basics, BoBunny
image - Antique Images
embroidery thread/button - from my stash
foam pads

Have a nice start into the new week, Petra.

Spring Flowers and Easter Chicks

Warm Hugz with flowers and leaves - it was a really lovely Hugz from the Heart challenge set to celebrate the end of winter: The first Day of Spring - Viv provided the templates for two flowers and two leaves, the group was to use both shapes and attach them together. The project went really well until I did something rather silly ... I somehow missed the 'attach them together' bit (lol) ... in the end the challenge ended in two creations which I really enjoyed - thank you, Viv, for your brilliant projects!

A Bunch of Flowers

Supplies:
white linen textured card for printing
papers - Mind's Eye, BasicGrey, Kraft and brown corrugated card from my stash
images - Graphics Fairy, Antique Images, Lenny'sAlice in Wonderland, Digital Collage Sheets
Lady Birds/ribbon - from my stash
Quickutz circle

The Easter Chick image is a combination of Graphics Fairy egg nest with wonderful subtle spring colours and Antique Images chickens. I really enjoyed to create the graphic
Please feel free to use it but you also might want to have a go yourself as it is great fun to play with these images. (lol)
For the second flower I chose the White Rabbit (from Lenny's Alice in Wonderland images where you will find an extensive range of Alice graphics) which is quite an interesting character with his little trumpet, paper roll and fancy coat. The daffodil background is from a digital collage sheet from Digital Collage Sheets.
Both images are layered on various patterend papers with chalked edges.

Hanging Flowers

For the hanging and attached (lol) flowers I used the same images, papers and embellishments but arranged them slightly different and added a little hanger from raffia.

Now I cannot wait to see the next challenge (lol) ... till then .... enjoy the sunshine, Petra.

Baby Gift Tag

I needed very quickly a nice little tag for a new born baby boy. The image from Digital Two For Tuesday was just perfect for this
As the baby boy doesn't have any brothers and sisters I altered the image to just have the baby in the pram on the tag. It is printed on linen textured card, coloured with Koh-i-noors and layered on paper from Papermania and Mind's Eye. The ribbon and lace I found in my stash and the stamp is from Woodware. Petra.

Party Time Art Exchange - part 2

And here are No 3 and 4 postcard for the Gingersnap Creations 'Party Time Art Exchange' challenge. These two are quite different from the first two ... more elegant (I think (lol)) and vintagey. Both cards are mainly based on images from the incredible Graphics Fairy image collection. If you haven't visited her blog yet, it is definitely worth a visit!

Dinner Party
The image printed on linen textured card and is the cover to an old sheet music. I filled the frame with a lovely couple from the Vintage Moth and surrounded it with a small ribbon and a little ribbon rose. The text is printed separately whereby the label is slightly bigger than the original one.

Tea Party
Ladies and a little child meeting for Tea Time - what a wonderfult pastime (lol). I printed the image on linen textured card, cut it with nestabilities label 8 and layered and framed it with two different blue tone glittery (unfortunately not too visible) cards. The tea cups are for big and little people alike. Looking at the postcard again I just realised ... oh no, I forgot the scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam! What a shame (lol) ..... Petra.

Party Time Postcards - part 1

These are the first two postcards for the Gingersnap Creations postcard swap, theme: Party Time Art Exchange. Every participant of the swap was asked to make 4 postcards. Mine are divided into two different 'party types'. This is more the fun and kiddy one (lol)

Hoot Party

The papers are BasicGrey. I stamped the little owl image (free stamp from the Craft Stamper magazine) onto linen textured card getting three little cute snow owl with glittery and hearty bellies. No party would be complete with party hat and some blings. The little flowers are individual felt flowers which I gave a bit of a wavey appearance.

Party Monster

The Party Monster is a cute little digi stamp design by Alison Spelman from Stretch N' Bubbles, with moving eyes and striking colours. Who would not like to go and party with him? ... (LOL)

For the backs of the postcards I used an image from Antiques Images altering the label at the top. Petra.

Button Card

the other day I bought some vintage buttons which are mounted on a little card ... very vintagey looking. Looking for a little project and having good use for my new Sizzix label shapes (lol) I thought it might be quite fun to make a button card myself. I used the colours from Sketchy Colors: red - pink - turquoise
Supplies:
paper - Bazill Basics, Crate Paper
stamp - Heine
ink - Elzybells
image - Graphics Fairy
buttons/ribbon - from my stash
Sizzix

I printed the image onto the turquoise paper and cut both the red and the turquoise paper into a label shape. Then the papers were layered, I stamped some twirly bits around the edges and attached some hot pink buttons to the tailor's dummy with some light pink thread. At the back of the card I made some knots to keep the buttons in place
I need to practise this a bit more ... and I have lots of buttons .... so you might see some more of these cards soon. Enjoy your Sunday, Petra.

ATCs - Pancakes and beyond

The February theme for the ATC swap over at Addicted to ATCs was: Valentines or Pancakes or do both. I made one Valentine
and two for the Pancake theme. It seemed to be so easy at first but I had real difficulties to find the right images. Luckily there is Tack-O-Rama clipart :-)

If you are interested in joining the swap, just send an email to addictedtoatcs@gmail.com or leave a comment on the blog. Petra.

Friendship Cushion

Just fabric, lace, stamping ... and a little bit of thread and stuffing. These are two firsts: for the first time I printed directly onto fabric (hurray I managed(lol) ) and it is the first friendship cushion I ever made .... and I loved every single minute when creating it ... and it came all about because I was looking for something I could submit for the Gingersnap Creations challenge: Lace/Fibers

Supplies:
unbleached raw cotton, felt, jute, muslin
image - Graphics Fairy
stamps/ink - Elzybells, Little Z
lace/thread/filling - from my stash

I saw the first friendship pillows in a wonderful book by Christa Rolf, Angelika Klein, und Uli Glasemann: Freundschaftskissen The projects in the book are very inspiring , the samples and illustrations are brilliant.
The little pillows shown are about 8cmx8cm, a perfect size .... not too big to be daunting but big enough for decorating: I cut a first square (8x8cm) from cotton, topped it with muslin and jute. I printed the image directly onto a little square of cotton, cut it to the preferred size and layered it onto a felt square with zic-zac edges. The sentiment is stamped on cotton with hybrid ink ... just brilliant for fabric stamping.
Everything can be sewn together using the sewing machine but then I thought how boring straight lines and even stitches would be and decided to do some hand stitching (lol) .... I quite like the way it turned out.
I left the back quite plain and just layered it with jute before joining the front and the back. Finally I filled the little pillow with polyester fibre.

It has been such fun to make this little cushion and a good way of using all these scraps of fabric. Have a go and have fun! Petra.
